Personal Inspiration

Know what’s even more exciting than bidding on a Sweemo experience? Posting one.
Know why? Because you can make a small fortune simply by doing what you love. And you can meet some awesome people along the way. It’s easy as falling off a tightrope.

Fun hobby? From archery to astronomy. Zoology to zorbing. There are people in the Sweemo community who would love to try what you do. Show them.
Cool job? Paparazzo, producer, professional poker player. Invite someone to spend a day in your shoes.
Own something special? Beach house in Barbados? Chalet in Chamonix? Sell a trip to the highest bidder.

Whatever you’re into, whatever you’re good at, try sharing it with someone who shares your passion.
Got an idea for a fantastic day? Great. Now give it a little twist and turn it into a real Sweemo kind of day. Then invite the world to join you.

Or there could be something you do every day that somebody else would love to do just once. Maybe you work in the media, or sports or fashion. Open the door into your world and make someone’s day.

Sweemo brings together those who can with those who want to. Can you?

Adrenaline

  • Got a spare surf board? Guide a beginner through the basics, get them up on the board, and change their life forever. And when the sun goes down take them to the beach bar where the surfers hang out. You might need to give them lessons on the lingo.

  • Like to bike up mountains then hurtle down the other side at break-neck speeds? Some people just don’t know what they’re missing. Why don’t you offer to show them? Plan a route to suite their abilities, then show them how to stay upright on a mud track, or how to tackle a steep descent.

  • Can’t find anyone to go coasteering with? You’ll find plenty on Sweemo, so invite a whole gang. In fact why not make a full weekend of it and finish it off with a barbecue on the beach? Hang on, I’ll just grab my wetsuit.

  • Wakeboard fanatic? Got your own boat? Don’t invite bids just for lessons. Offer the full experience -  boat handling, beginner techniques, then chuck the tent in the boot and head off to an event and show them how it’s really done.

Entertainment

  • Extremely social? Go to few cool underground events, or maybe just a backyard college party? Bring a friend along!

  • Popular kind of person? If everyone on the scene knows who you are - why not make a difference to someone's life by showing them what it's like to be popular.  Offer a night out with your crew or maybe just a few drinks with the gang?

  • Got your own band? Ask people to bid for the chance to jam with you at a practice session. And if they’re good enough, invite them on stage for a couple of numbers at your next gig.

  • Great at golf? Terrific at tennis? Share your talent. But don’t just offer a lesson. What about a lesson on Saturday followed by a doubles tournament on Sunday?

  • Work in television or theatre? Take someone behind the scenes and show them how the magic is created. Take them for coffee afterwards and meet the crew. Maybe you could even get them an audition.

  • Got a spare ticket to the game? Don’t just sell it. Sell it as part of a package. Arrange to collect your guest and take them to the ground. Have lunch before the game and soak up the atmosphere. Then after the final whistle it’s off to the local pub to celebrate or commiserate.

Lifestyle

  • Off to an extra-cool party this weekend? Why not take someone new along? Could be a date. Could be a mate. Could be kinda fun.

  • Know your way around a kitchen? Why not show someone how to cook three incredible dishes, from a French classic to Australian fusion? And teach them to make a chocolate soufflé that will make their dinner parties the talk of the town.

  • Got an eye for interior design? Amateur or pro, offer to show someone how to give their home a make-over. Choose the colours. Put together some sketches. Brighten up their home and brighten up their day.

  • In fashion? Model, designer or photographer? Invite someone to join you for the day and give them a behind-the-scenes look into the world of fashion? Or take them shopping and help them to choose something prêt-a-porter.

  • Teach classes? Singing, creative writing, yoga? Invite bids on some one-to-one sessions. Maybe an intensive full-day course. Or put together a Sweemo group session at a local retreat and make a weekend of it.

  • Archaeologist? Show someone how to dig up the past and uncover the secrets of lost civilisations.

Travel

  • Got a second home? Try trading places for a week or two. Swap Brittany for Brisbane? Provence for Peru? Or simply auction holidays to the highest bidder.

  • Know your own town better than a tour guide? Invite people on a tour that goes places the open-top-bus driver doesn’t know about. Take them off the beaten track and show them the infamous as well as the famous.

  • Got a boat? Take someone for a cruise to your secret island on the Thames – is there one? Oh – it’s a secret.

Group

  • Like to go hill-walking? Like some company? If you know the local country like the back of your hand then plan a route, draw up an itinerary and post an invitation.

  • Whatever you like to do there’s lots of other people in your area who like to do it too. So why not get together? If you teach classes then start a special Sweemo group. Sweemo yoga. Sweemo French. Sweemo sumo.

Organisational Inspiration

Any organisation can create a unique Sweemo experience. You don’t have to be a travelling circus or work in the safari business. In fact you don’t have to be in business at all. You could be a charity or community group, a club or society, or a professional body. Anything at all really.

Making your own Sweemo experience is easy. Just think about what you do, because every organisation has its own special attractions. For some, like an F1 racing team, they’re pretty obvious. For others, like a doughnut maker, maybe less so. But someone somewhere would love to know exactly how they manage to get the jam inside.

What does an experience look like? The secret is to make yours unique. Don’t just invite people to look around. Invite them to “shadow a chef for the night” or “train with the team” or “work alongside us for the day”. And add a little twist. Don’t offer “the best seats in the house”. Make it “the best seats in the house then come back-stage and meet the cast.”

And think about what’s in it for you. It needn’t be all about the cash. What else do you need? Customer research? Product testing? Make it part of the package. And the PR opportunities can be enormous.

Get the idea? Here’s a few examples to get you thinking.

Entertainment

  • Run a TV or Film Production company? Invite people to bid for their own 15 seconds of fame. The winners get to be extras in your next production.

  • Run a sports team? Auction a seat in the dug-out at your next home game. Sit the winner next to the manager and let them hear a real half-time team talk. It’s a sensational PR opportunity.

  • Manage a radio station?  Let people bid to host their own show for an hour on prime time. Make it a weekly slot and create a new kind of cult show. And just think of the media attention.

  • Own a talent agency? Always on the lookout for lucrative assignments for your clients? What if you could make up your own? Celebrity golf. Celebrity gardening. Celebrity shopping. And you get to manage it.

Adrenaline

  • Make climbing equipment? Invite people to come along and help test your latest designs. Better still, send them up Mont Blanc to do it. Self-funded product testing and customer research. Cool.

  • Run a paintball company? Get a celeb to come along for the day then auction places in their team. And auction the chance to take a shot at them too. Which one would generate the highest bids? And just think of the publicity - the chance to splat a celeb!

Lifestyle

  • Run a health club? Offer an after-hours VIP session where the highest bidder gets a personal trainer plus all the facilities to themselves for a whole hour.

  • Nightclub owner? Open up your VIP area to the highest bidder. Chuck in a celeb for company and see the bids shoot up.

  • Run a modelling agency? Help someone put together their own portfolio. Guarantee them a first assignment and watch what happens to the bids.

Travel

  • Run a tour company? Need to put bums on seats? Use Sweemo to reach a wider audience. But you’ll need to make your offer stand out. So don’t just offer a guided tour. Make it a celebrity-guided tour.

  • Got vacant rooms in your hotel next weekend? Auction them on Sweemo. But add a little extra. Like an in-room specialty make-over. Spice up your offer, spice up the price. Want some extra publicity? Auction off an evening working next to your concierge. The public would love it. So would the press.

Group

  • Run a Dance or Drama School? Ever thought of doing team building exercises for corporate clients? Great fun. Great for business too.

  • Run an antique shop or an auction house? Invite people into the workshop and show then some trade secrets. Or set up classes in furniture restoration. Nice little earner. Nice little PR opportunity.
