Hints to completing the form

DO's

  • Remember to provide as much information as possible.  It's the little details that count.
  • Upload an image or three.  Everyone loves to see pictures so include a few to liven things up. It's guaranteed to get more attention that if you didn't.
  • Provide some background information on the location, activity or the person that is involved in the experience. If you don't have any info to hand, there are some great resources on the web where you can get background information for almost anything.  If it's exciting, you'll have the bidders knocking down your door.
  • When you are previewing your listing, try to be objective and think - would I buy this if I saw it?  If not, then try adding some more detail and jazz up the description a little.
  • Remember to use a spell checker to make it look as good as possible.  Nothing ruins a great listing like bad grammar and spelling mistakes.
  • Make sure to answer as many relevant additional info questions as possible such as:
  1. Exactly how many people can I bring?  Be specific and not just provide a range.  If you can have 12 people in a group, just say - "you will be bidding for 12 places".
  2. Is the date flexible? Will this be negotiated at the completion of the auction? Or does the experience need to be taken before a certain date?
  3. If there is a recognised person or celebrity involved, please include the name.  You would want to know too if you were bidding.
  4. Is transport provided? Do they need to make their own way? Do you provide transfers or flights?
  5. Is accommodation included or is it just a tour? What is the name of the hotel and what standard of accommodation will I be in?
  6. Is it backstage only or do I get a ticket and a seat?
  7. How long will I get to meet the celebrity for?

DON'Ts

  • DO NOT be vague about details because you may end up with lots of unhappy bidders who were expecting a whole lot more than what you are providing.
  • Do NOT say 'this package is ongoing' because it cheapens the experience.  If it's ongoing then people won't think it's quite as special or unique anymore does it?
  • DO NOT mention optional extras unless it's included as part of the final auction price. You need to remember that people can only bid for the exact package that you have specified.

Approval by Sweemo – why does my moment need to be approved?

Most other websites will charge you an upfront or listing to advertise on them.  One of the results of this is that it deters some fraudulent users from listing stuff because they may be wasting their money.  Since we don't charge any upfront fees, we needed some way to provide a similar level of quality control on the content that is listed by our users.

We will actually read listings before we post them on Sweemo. Yes. Real people read every single listing before they go live. We think that’s rather nice. It shows that we’re a socially and morally responsible bunch. It’s one of the many ways in which we try to protect the Sweemo community – and our own reputation. This however doesn't mean that we guarantee the authenticity or validity of any the experiences, we just try to weed out the really bad ones.

Answering Requests - Make an offer

You can also sell your experiences by responding to requests made by other Sweemo users.  For more information see the How to use requests section

Fees and Commissions

To keep all our employees happy, we do actually have to pay them with more than just hugs and kind words.

The Sweemo fees and commissions are simple and transparent. So you always know exactly what you’re paying for.

There are no fees for bidders on Sweemo. The closing price is the price you pay direct to the Provider.

Upfront Fees

There are Zero upfront fees to use Sweemo. Aren't we lovely?

Closing Fees

We work on a No-Sale No-Pay rule, which means that you only pay us the Closing Fee if the listing sells and you make some moolah from it.

The commission is calculated on a sliding scale and is based on the final closing price. The higher the price, the smaller the percentage rate of commission.  We reckon that's pretty fair.

No Closing Fees are taken on Swaps.

For example:
An experience is listed with a starting price of £250 with a reserve price of £500, sells for £750.   The Provider also chooses to allow the listing to be Swapped. The fees would be:

            Closing Fee       =    £37.50 (5% of £750)
             Reserve Fee     =      £7.50 (1.5% of £500)
             Total                      £45.00
             VAT (if applic)         £7.88

Payment Terms

We only take fees from our Providers.  Why? Because they'll actually get paid!

Each time a Provider sells a moment, the sales commission fee is calculated and added to the Provider's account.

The Final value commissions only appear on your account 7 days after the close of the auction/sale.

At the end of the monthly cycle, Sweemo takes payment for the entire account using either your default credit card that you provided us with, or we will raise a PayPal request for you to settle your account.

We will provide you with a full account of all fees via email.

Payments must be paid within the agreed period (usually 14 days) otherwise the provider's account may be suspended and Sweemo may take actions to recover our fees.
